The Boxer is a very energetic dog with a tendency for curiosity and puppy like playfulness. Boxers can grow up to an average height of 22 - 25 inches (Males) or 21 - 24 inches (Females). Their average weight ranges from 60 - 70 pounds (Males) to 53 - 60 pounds (Females).
A Boxer’s body is built to be powerful and strong while the tails are required to be docked at an early age. Their coats are smooth and can be in any of the following colors, which are Tan, Fawn, Brindle, Mahogany, Black and White and even on rare occasion fully white.
Even as puppies, they are very intelligent and eager to please. They are also easy to train as Boxers are very quick to learn and bonds fast. These dogs are best with children and will also prove to be great guard dogs. Hence, even though Boxers tend to act clownish at times, they can be splendid watch dogs. But as with all dogs, it is imperative that the Boxer is taught that the owner has dominance and is the leader. Being very athletic, Boxers require proper exercise and activity indoors or outdoors along with the daily walk.
Boxers can easily get affected by extreme temperatures. White Boxers can be susceptible to deafness. Drooling and snoring is also common among them.
