The Papillon dog, also known as the Continental Toy Spaniel, originated in France. They’re particularly known for their butterfly wing-like ears. Papillon means butterfly in French.

Papillons are considered to be moderate shedders. They shed lightly throughout the year, and they shed more especially during spring and fall.
